Sotheby’s has partnered with digital art collective UnicornDAO to curate a special non-fungible token (NFT) auction in honor of International Women’s Day. The “My Body, My Business” auction features works from 34 traditional and Web3-native artists, including Marina Abramović, Cindy Sherman, Jenny Holzer, Ellen Von Unwerth, Olive Allen, Latashá, Jen Stark and Nadya Tolokonnikova, the collection’s curator and founding member of the activist group Pussy Riot. This auction is a unique opportunity to celebrate the work of female artists and to explore the potential of NFTs as a medium for digital art. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the International Women’s Day Foundation, a global charity that works to empower women and girls around the world.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, co-founder of UnicornDAO, is passionate about using art and activism to empower women and underrepresented communities. Through her work with Pussy Riot, she encourages people to take an active role in the movement, rather than just being passive observers. UnicornDAO is a collective that provides support to women and LGBTQ+ NFT creators, and Tolokonnikova is bringing her fight to the blockchain, galleries, auction houses, and museums. She is determined to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be heard and to make their voices heard.

Endaoment is launching PPFA.eth, a wallet address that will help direct donations to Planned Parenthood, an organization that supports women’s reproductive health. Until March 14, a portion of the proceeds from an auction will be donated to the organization. Endaoment is a crypto donations platform that allows users to donate to charities and causes they care about. The wallet address will help direct donations to Planned Parenthood, making it easier for people to support the organization. By donating to PPFA.eth, users can help ensure that women have access to the reproductive health services they need.

Marina Abramović and Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova have teamed up to launch a new NFT project to support women’s rights. The project, called “Planning Parenthood,” will use NFTs to raise money for women’s reproductive rights and health. The proceeds will go to organizations that provide access to contraception, abortion, and other reproductive health services. Tolokonnikova has been using NFTs for activism for the past two years, and recently teamed up with artist Shepard Fairey to release a collection called Putin’s Ashes, to raise money for troops in Ukraine. In May 2022, UnicornDAO raised $4.5 million to help bolster its portfolio of NFT projects doing social good. Abramović and Tolokonnikova’s project is a powerful example of how NFTs can be used to support social causes and empower underrepresented communities.
